Great location, only 7 minutes from Chiba Station

In January 2025, the former Mitsui Garden Hotel Chiba was rebranded as Royal Pines Hotel Chiba. Just a 7-minute walk from JR Chiba Station, it’s a super convenient base for sightseeing or business. As soon as I stepped inside, I felt a calm, relaxing atmosphere, making my entire stay peaceful and comfortable.
A luxurious breakfast at “Pusachipa” restaurant on the second floor

Breakfast is served at Pusachipa, the hotel’s newly renovated restaurant that reopened in April 2025 on the second floor. The interior feels nostalgic and warm, like an old-school Japanese café. Large windows overlook the city of Chiba, letting in the morning sun for a relaxed start to the day. There are spacious sofa seats and window seats, so whether you’re alone, with friends, or with family, it’s a comfortable place to enjoy your meal.

A breakfast buffet packed with the blessings of Boso

The breakfast buffet offers over 50 Japanese and Western dishes, featuring plenty of ingredients from Chiba and the Boso area. The buffet counters are spaciously arranged, so you can take your time choosing your food without feeling rushed.

Colorful salads and fragrant grilled salmon

One thing that really stood out was the salad section, filled with fresh local vegetables that looked like they were just picked from the field. There were lots of toppings and dressings, so you could customize your salad just the way you like it. The grilled salmon, topped with freshly shaved bonito flakes, had a wonderful dashi aroma that made it feel like a luxurious treat in the morning.

Chiba-style peanut sweets and a delicious cottage pie

The peanut-shaped mini financiers, a specialty of Chiba, looked so cute – just like real peanuts. They were moist and tasty as they were, but toasting them made them even more fragrant and delicious. The cottage pie, with layers of corned beef, white sauce, and melty cheese, was rich but not heavy, so I couldn’t resist going back for seconds.

Homemade breads and a wide selection of drinks for a blissful morning

In the homemade bread corner, there were mini croissants, focaccia, pain au chocolat, and more. It was fun making open sandwiches with cheese and ham. Drinks included freshly brewed coffee from an espresso machine, tea bags, and fresh juice – everything you need for a satisfying breakfast.
Comfortable stay in a Deluxe Twin on the high floors

I stayed in a Deluxe Twin room (23m²) located on the 12th floor or above. The large window gave me great views of Chiba’s cityscape, which looked different in the morning and evening. The room was bright and clean, with amenities like a humidifying air purifier, tea set, and nightwear – perfect for both business and sightseeing.

The bathroom was a typical Japanese unit bath, but the tub was quite spacious, so I could relax and soak away my fatigue. Overall, the entire hotel had a calm and quiet atmosphere, making it a wonderfully relaxing stay.
