Check in to Hotel Indigo Tokyo Shibuya! Surrounded by the culture and art of Shibuya
I went to cover the Hotel Indigo Tokyo Shibuya, which opened on August 29, 2023.
This will be the fourth Hotel Indigo brand hotel in Japan, following Hotel Indigo Hakone Gora, which opened in 2020, Hotel Indigo Karuizawa, which opened in spring 2022, and Hotel Indigo Inuyama Yurakuen.
Hotel Indigo Tokyo Shibuya is a 5-minute walk from Shibuya Station.
A total of 272 guest rooms will be equipped on the 13th through 28th floors of the Dogenzaka-dori/dogenzaka-dori, a large-scale complex that opened on August 24, 2023.
Check in on the 12th floor of the front desk!
The reception area is decorated with artwork combining materials such as denim, leather, patterns, and belts, all based on the theme of Shibuya’s rich fashion culture.
The linear design woven throughout the hotel is inspired by the Shibuya Scramble Crossing.
The uniforms of the staff are different from each other and are custom-made by “COTEMER,” a fashion brand originating in Shibuya.
You will find various discoveries while walking around the museum, such as encountering a “hidden Hachiko.
Hachiko is a dog that is the symbol of Shibuya.
Hotel Indigo Tokyo Shibuya” breakfast is served at “Gallery 11” on the 11th floor.
Gallery 11, the 11th floor restaurant, which can also be accessed by stairs from the front desk floor, will offer breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, and dinner, as well as a light meal menu that can be enjoyed throughout the day.

The restaurant is decorated with attractive artwork depicting Shibuya themes and colorful interiors, and also has an open kitchen and a vast terrace.
Breakfast at Hotel Indigo Tokyo Shibuya is a buffet with a choice of entrees.

Choose your main dish first.
Some dishes are hard to predict just by looking at the menu name, but I chose the “Shibuya Scramble Honey Toast,” which is said to be a signature dish.
Chicken ramen is also on the menu, and the foreign customer sitting next to me ordered it. Light ramen in the morning is nice. (After spending two days here, I have the impression that there are many inbound customers.)
What’s cooking at the buffet? Hors d’oeuvres and sweets in the fridge.
Pick up the dishes you are interested in at the buffet table until your main course arrives.
The counter on the kitchen side is lined with freshly prepared dishes incorporating crispy bacon, egg dishes, sautéed spinach, and beans, along with side dishes that go well with rice, miso soup and other Japanese dishes, soups, breads, jams, honey, cereals, and more.
Another island has colorful vegetables, cheese that can be cut into portions as desired, and a wide variety of dressings and toppings.

Furthermore, two refrigerators are set up for cold dishes such as ham, steamed egg custard, smoothies, soups, fruits, and desserts.
Since they are prepared in individual serving bowls, they are easy to take out and you will want to try a little bit of everything.
Back at the table, the main dish also arrives, and when you arrange the dishes you’ve taken, they make a colorful and fashionable feast!
The main dish is the signature ‘Shibuya Scramble’ honey toast.
The main dish was described as honey toast, so I imagined it to be something sweet, but it was a cube of browned toast with scrambled eggs and sautéed mushrooms! The porcini mushrooms and truffle-scented dish, a first for this style of cooking, was a generous portion.
Bright fresh juices are a delight. Dessert & Tea Time
In addition to cold juices from the buffet table, drinks such as café lattes, original blends, and hot teas could be ordered at the table and were freely refilled.
Many of the hors d’oeuvres and desserts are also worth trying and picking up two or three times! The freshly baked bread is also delicious and satisfying.

Enter the vast terrace reminiscent of the Mediterranean Sea! The view is of a scramble intersection
Bask in the sun on the expansive terrace
When we were full, we went out to the terrace to cool off.
Take a break at the blue tables and sofas reminiscent of the Mediterranean sea.
When you reach the end, you can see the scramble crossing in front of you.
It is quite rare to be able to view the streets of Shibuya and the flow of people from a distance.
Feel the city breeze and the buildings towering under the sky. Good view with glass-walled measures. Maybe a hole-in-the-wall spot.
Gallery 11 (Gallery Eleven), including this terrace, is open to non-guests.
Guests are given priority for the breakfast buffet.
