[Hotel Review] Just Opened in March 2026! Catching Killer Views, Hot Springs, and a Seafood Buffet at “La Vista Atami Terrace”

Heading to a Hot Spring Resort with Stunning Views of Atami Bay

I recently spent a night at the newly opened “La Vista Atami Terrace” (which just opened its doors in March 2026!) with a half-board plan that covers both dinner and breakfast.

Perched on a hill right across from Atami Sun Beach, the hotel offers a panoramic view of Atami Bay. It’s honestly the perfect spot for watching the Atami Maritime Fireworks Festival.

To get up to the hotel, you ride this cool private slope car. The property consists of “Central Square”—where you’ll find the front desk, restaurants, and public baths—and two guest room buildings. I stayed in the “East Tower.”

After checking in at the resort-style lobby, I took a breather with a welcome drink of Amanatsu (summer orange) juice. The walkway to the rooms offers an open, breezy view of the Atami cityscape, the ocean, and some tropical-looking plants.

Pure Luxury: Unwinding in a Room with an Open-Air Bath

I stayed in the “La Vista Twin” room, which has a cozy, relaxing vibe where you take off your shoes at the entrance.

It features warm wooden flooring, a spacious layout, a vanity, a shower room, a restroom, and—the absolute highlight—a private open-air bath right on the balcony!

Inside the fridge, they had complimentary mandarin orange juice and mineral water waiting for me. There were also Izu lemon rusks on the table, making for a perfect, laid-back tea time.

The view from the balcony was breathtaking, looking out over Atami Sun Beach, Hatsushima Island, and even Atami Castle.

Maxing Out the Hotel Stay: Lounges and Hot Spring Hopping

Before heading to the main baths, I dropped by the free lounge. You can help yourself to tea, coffee, ice cream, and even draft beer! They even serve light snacks in the evening.

The public bath area has indoor baths, open-air baths, and a sauna. But wait, there’s more—further back, you’ll find four different private baths and an observation open-air bath. At the observation bath, you put on a special bathing gown and soak while taking in the gorgeous night views of Atami. Plus, you can use the private baths whenever they’re free, completely gratis.

After hitting the baths, the post-bath lounge area offers popsicles, milk, and probiotic drinks. Late at night, they serve Kyoritsu Maintenance’s famous “Yonaki Soba” (free soy sauce ramen), and you can even use the massage chairs for free. Honestly, you never even need to leave the hotel to have a great time.

A Seafood Feast: The Dinner Buffet

Dinner was a massive buffet at the 6th-floor seaside restaurant.

The spread was incredible: sashimi served on a wooden boat, sushi, Shizuoka oden, chilled cha-soba (green tea noodles), bouillabaisse, escargot-style turban shell, and pan-seared red sea bream.

They also had a live kitchen whipping up fresh roast beef and pepperoncino right in front of you. Along with soft drinks, it was all-you-can-drink Shizuoka Bakushu (local beer) and wine. I stuffed myself with seafood while staring out at Atami Bay.

A Refreshing Start: Morning Soaks and Breakfast

After getting some amazing sleep in the spacious room, I started the next day with a morning bath. Soaking in a hot spring in the crisp morning air is next-level amazing—it completely wakes up your mind and body.

The breakfast buffet was heavily focused on Japanese dishes. I made my own seafood rice bowl with all my favorite toppings, and enjoyed creamy yose-tofu (curd tofu), bamboo-steamed veggies, tamagoyaki (rolled omelet), and clam soup.

Wrap-up

Between the killer location overlooking Atami Bay, the private balcony bath, the endless hot spring options, the generous freebies, and the seafood-heavy buffet, this place checks every single box. It’s the ultimate resort stay where the hotel itself is the vacation.

Note: Offerings may vary depending on the season and availability.
